Jesus’ invitation is not an exclusive club invitation, but an open invitation to all people.

2 Peter 3:9 (New International Version)

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

All are invited but not all will accept or receive the invitation. If I have a gift for you and I stretch out my hand to give it to you, there is still a part of you that needs to respond and receive it; I cannot force it into your hand.

We have been given a free gift that cost Almighty God everything, His only Son.

Some of us are trapped in believing that we can be good enough to be acceptable before God, but that is ignoring the Holiness of God and the seriousness of sin. If our Almighty and all knowing God thought for a minute that our sins could be forgiven without payment, He would not have paid such an expensive price for us. The Bible is very clear:

Romans 3:23 (New International Version)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 (New International Version)

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

No, there is only one sin, rejecting Jesus as the gift and the payment provided for your sins by the grace and the goodness of God. I just want to make it crystal clear; God is inviting you to receive His Son, His extremely expensive and valuable free gift worth more than a million pounds or all the treasures of this world put together.

The only things that can block someone receiving from God are pride, addiction to sin, and ignorance. Well, now you cannot plead the ignorance card as you have just heard, pride can be broken on renewing your mind about who God is and what He has done for you, and addictions to sins can be replaced to the world’s number one addiction, addiction to the love of God, the addiction that brings you peace in your heart and gives you the courage and strength to be victorious in this broken world.

Now the choice is yours, God gave you free will, and you can opt for a life of love, joy, peace and hope despite your earthly circumstances and be victorious, or you can remain stuck in a life of depression, fear, worry and anxiety because you choose to be on your own. That is not even beginning to think about all eternity. You get to choose now where you want to spend your eternity. Eternity is just a very long time. So here is the prayer you can pray from your heart that will get you out of eternal Hell:

Dearly beloved heavenly Father

I realise that I am in need of salvation. I have sinned against you and all I deserve is death and Hell. But I come before you knowing that in your almighty goodness you have provided the way out for me. I ask you to forgive me all of my sins. I now choose the way out.

Lord Jesus, I thank you that when you died you paid my debt, and you suffered in my place. I thank you that by your blood I am forgiven, I am cleansed from all sin, and you have exchanged my dirty heart for your loving heart.

Holy Spirit, I ask you to come and fill me up and be my comforter, my teacher, and my best friend. I can’t change my life, but you can exchange it for me. Transform me into the image of Christ and make me a new born again believer. Fill me with your love, your joy, your hope and your peace.

I receive you, and I thank you for becoming King over my life, I am yours, I belong to you! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
