In our physical world, we have physical laws, and in the spiritual world, we have spiritual laws. Just as God is not going to change the law of gravity, He is not going to change the way spiritual laws work, because if the law of gravity suddenly stopped to work to save one person, there would be many more accidents for people who rely on that law for their life and it would cause chaos. And God doesn’t change; He is not a God of chaos but of order.

The physical world gives us some insight of how God operates spiritually. Therefore there are a whole series of spiritual laws that cannot go opposite to how they were established to work. Here are some of these laws:

Proverbs 23:7

7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Where your mind goes you will follow. Thinking depressing thoughts will make you feel depressed, thinking of something exciting will fill you with joy.

Matthew 6:33

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

If you seek God as your God, He will provide all the things He knows you need and more.

Matthew 7:7

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Persevere in your pursuit of God, He wants to know that you are serious about seeking Him.

Proverbs 3:5-8

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

If you trust God and obey, all will go well with you and your health. Trusting God will bring you protection and peace.

Romans 10:17

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

What are you listening to? Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, and doubt comes by hearing what the world says.

John 8:31-32

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Knowing God’s Word is knowing the truth, and the truth is what keeps us strong in our minds and hearts, Building our house on the rock rather than sand.

Romans 12:2

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

No longer follow principles that seem natural to you, instead follow God’s supernatural way of doing things.

Galations 6:7

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

In the physical world, if we don’t sow, or if we sow weeds, we will reap weeds, but if we sow flower seeds we will reap beautiful flowers. God gave us a free choice. The same applies in the spiritual world.

Romans 12:21

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

This truth can be very difficult to apply as it goes exactly against our natural desire. But now that we have the Holy Spirit teaching us and encouraging us, if we obey, we will see God softening our hearts and turning the situation completely around for good.

Romans 8:39

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God loves us, and there is nothing that we can do to make God love us more or love us less. God is love, which is His nature.

Matthew 7:1

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Often, if we challenge other people about something, if we look close enough to our own actions, we do or have done the same thing at one point ourselves.

Ephesians 6:12

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Our real enemy is not the people who hurt us but often the enemy is deceiving them to get to us. If we are for Christ, we will have the enemy putting thoughts in our minds that may not even be true. Another person may not have meant to hurt us, but it was the way we perceived it that offended us.

Luke 9:24

24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

Jesus knew we would have trials and tribulations, but He told us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. We are not in heaven yet, the Christian life is not supposed to be an easy ride on this side, but God will see us through it.

Romans 8:6

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

If we speak in hymns and psalms to each other and if we keep our minds on what is lovely and kind, and we trust and obey the Lord, we will reap life and peace.

Psalm 107:20

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

If we spend time in God’s Word, it will be health to our body. God promises us that His Word will bring healing and deliverance to us.

Mark 11:23

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Here we see that Jesus tells us to talk to our problem, and believe in our God given authority, and it will happen. We as believers need to know that God gave us the authority to speak to our mountains in His name.

Matthew 6:12

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

In the Lord’s prayer, we see that God forgives us first, then He asks us to forgive our enemies, but if we do not forgive those who have sinned against us, He will not forgive us.

Matthew 15:18

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Proverbs 18:21

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Our words give us life or death. Also what we hear ourselves speak we enforce the belief of just by speaking it. Once it is out there, it will be a blessing or a curse that comes back to us. Without Christ, it is very difficult not to follow our desire to destroy and destruct. But with Him, we have the ability available to operate in the fruit of self-control.

Acts 5:29

29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than men!

If we obey God, we cannot go wrong, because we will be doing what is right in God’s sight and in our hearts. We are not to fear men to the point of being under their control, but God.

Proverbs 29:25

25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

God gives us freedom to serve others.

John 15:5

5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Apart from Jesus we cannot do anything, He is our strength.

God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5). God is always with us, He is faithful never to leave us nor forsake us, but often it is us who are not dwelling in God.

James 4:7

7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

We resist the devil by submitting to God. In other words, if we don’t obey God, we open the door to the devil in our lives.

Nehemiah 8:10

10 The joy of the Lord is your strength.

When we are sad and depressed, the devil is stealing our strength. If we can sing praises to the Lord, even when we don’t feel like it, we can defeat the oppression of the enemy providing there is no physical cause behind it.

1Corinthians 1:9

9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

God’s Word is His bond. God does not break His promises to us. His faithfulness is our protection.

1Peter 5:6

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

God hates pride because it is an obstacle to our relationship with Him.

John 3:3

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Unless we repent, give our hearts to Jesus and accept His work on the cross for our salvation, and willing to be exchanged for His life in us, we cannot know or understand the Kingdom of God. This is what gives us spiritual eyes to see supernaturally. We need to come to the end of ourselves, and let God live through us.

  1. Name three laws that struck you!
  2. Ask God to give you a supernatural gift to memorise scripture.
  3. Take your favourite verse and meditate on it day and night, plant it deep in your mind and heart and let the revelation explode inside of you by the power of the Holy Spirit!
